One of the nicest attractions in and around Johannesburg and there are quite a lot (!) is the Johannesburg Zoo which me and my girlfriend visited on our holiday in South Africa.

We had found out about the Johannesburg Zoo through their website and simply by searching fun attractions in Johannesburg on tripadvisor which helped us a lot.

On that same route you will find Oudtshoorn which on its own marks the beginning of a new itinerary, the Route 62 wine route. Besides being known for its great wines Oudtshoorn has some other nice tourist hightlights.

I visited the Cango Caves at the foothills of the Swartberg range and the steep rock formations really challenged me but the caves were beautiful.

A good tip: On the road leading to the Cango Caves you will find the Cango Wildlife Ranch which is awesome.

Like I said Plettenberg Bay is on of the best place to go on an ocean safari as chances to meet up with the whales here are pretty good.

My ocean safari departed from Plettenberg Bay which is located within the Bitou Local Municipality in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Make sure to wear warm clothing and waterproof gear because it gets really chilly...

Like the Kruger National Park also the coastline and the city of Cape Town have their charme and a combination trip between wildlife safari's, coastal drives and city sightseeing would be the best way to explore South Africa.

The areas to visit from Cape Town are numerous and therefor make sure to spend at least a week around this impressive city.
