On behalf of Air New Zealand I made a trip to Norfolk Island for an airport emergengy exercise. Besides a business trip we also had a great stay on Norfolk Island.

Our accomodation was arranged in Kingston, the capital of Norfolk Island and ouside working hours we did several Norfolk Island tours which were all arranged by a comany called the Norfolk Island Pine Tree tours.

Pitcairn Island is definitely a unique place and one of the most memorable travel destinations I have been to. Together with a group of friends me and my wife decided to go on a Pitcairn Island Expedition.

The Pitcairn Expedition adventures are adventurous boat trips which, in the months between January and April, departing from the Gambier Islands which are part of French Polynesia.

The Tuvalu island group lies to Samoa's northwest like Tokelau lies to its northeast. From Samoa we travelled to the islands of Wallis and Futuna and after about 10 days there we took our flight up north to Tuvalu's Funafuti Atoll.

We arrived at the Funafuti International Airport, Tuvalu's only airport and the gateway to the rest of the island group.

After the week spend on Tokelau island Nukunonu we had planned to continue our South Pacific adventure and travel towards the Wallis and Futuna islands.

Unfortunately there is no airport in Tokelau so had to take the ferry back to Apia in Samoa first. Flying straight to Wallis airport was no realistic option after this heavy two day ferry ride so we decided to spend another night...
